Two veteran staffers joined the management team and four newcomers were added to our staff as Palisades Hudson enjoyed a year of substantial growth in 2014.
Melinda Kibler, 26, became a client service manager in the Fort Lauderdale office in November. Melinda began her Palisades Hudson career as a summer intern in 2008. She accepted a full-time position the following year, after graduating cum laude from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in economics and statistics and a management certificate in accounting and finance. Melinda left the firm in 2010 and rejoined in early 2013 after earning her Certified Financial Planner™ credential. She is a native of Wappingers Falls, New York, and now resides in Davie, Florida.
Amy Laburda, 29, was promoted to administrative manager in the Scarsdale office, where she serves as the firm’s editorial manager. Amy joined Palisades Hudson in 2010 and has been involved in researching, drafting and editing material for the firm’s book Looking Ahead: Life, Family, Wealth and Business After 55, as well as the daily Current Commentary column online and many articles for Sentinel. She also manages the firm’s social media presence. An Indianapolis native, Amy received her B.A. in liberal arts from Sarah Lawrence College with a focus in dramatic literature. She lives in the Bronx.
Kirstie Ward joined our Fort Lauderdale staff as a financial planning assistant. Kirstie, 25, hails from St. Petersburg, Florida. She worked for several years in commercial real estate after graduating from Florida State University with a B.S. in finance and real estate. As an FPA, Kirstie prepares a wide range of client reports, including tax returns, portfolio rebalances and investment statements, while also handling administrative tasks for the Florida office.
Two new client service associates joined the Scarsdale staff. Carmelo Bueti, 22, joined the firm after graduating from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College, where he earned his B.S. in finance. He shares an office with Tim Meyer, also 22, who came aboard after graduating from Union College, where he received a B.A. in managerial economics. Carmelo’s hometown is Mount Kisco, New York, while Tim was raised in nearby Brewster.
The new voice answering our telephones belongs to Nicole Merigliano, an administrative associate in Scarsdale. Nicole, 22, was a member of last year’s Union College graduating class along with Tim. Nicole majored in political science, in which she earned her B.A. degree, and minored in Spanish. Besides handling telephones and mail, Nicole coordinates the firm’s travel and meeting arrangements. She is a native of Larchmont, New York, where she currently lives.
